As well as a form of training,
exercising on the treadmill particularly helps to reduce the
risk of health problems. By measuring the pulse, lactate values
and the respiration rate, an optimal training programme can
be designed and constantly adapted to the needs of each horse.
For example, an ECG can be performed while the horse is exercising
on the treadmill or directly after exercise.
If a horse has respiratory problems, an inhaler can be used
on the treadmill. This increases the inhalation effect considerably. |

What experts say:
"Racehorses that have been partially trained
for their races on a treadmill are less likely to acquire
musculoskeletal disorders than those horses solely trained
on the track."
Scientific study from the USA
"Treadmill training is also good for physical
balance, as the horse has to maintain a high level of
concentration."
